Questions

Price Claim Monitor: frequently asked questions

Do you contact or publish anything about our shop?

No. Findings are shared privately with you and no one else. We do not publish findings, name shops or contact anyone about them.

How much load does this put on our site?

Very little. We visit once a day, read only public product pages, and follow the pace your robots.txt and crawl delay set.

What do you need from us for an Audit?

Nothing. The Audit runs entirely from the outside. We need no access to your systems and no data from you, only which country shops to include.

Where is the data stored?

In the EU, in Microsoft Azure’s West Europe region. Captured pages and records are kept for 365 days.

Is the report legal advice?

No. The report states what your shop showed, when, and the evidence behind it. Your legal team or advisers decide what it means for you.

Can a daily outside check prove your lowest price of the last 30 days?

It proves what your shop showed each time we looked, with the date, time and a saved record of the page. So the report gives the lowest price we observed and says plainly where the record has gaps, such as a day a product could not be read, or a price that may have changed between two visits. Where your own price history is available (Fix), we check the two against each other.

What happens after the Audit?

If needed, we help you fix labels and set up a check before each promotion (Fix), and keep a nightly outside check running (Monitor).
